Why a WINIX humidifier?

A humidifier adds moisture to dry indoor air. Choose according to room size and check the humidity with a hygrometer. The WINIX L500 is intended for rooms up to 50 m²; use and maintain the appliance according to the manual. A humidifier regulates humidity; an air purifier filters airborne particles. A humidifier is designed to increase humidity when the air in your home is too dry. Adding moisture to the air, especially during winter, can improve indoor air quality. Adjust the setting to the measured humidity and avoid excessive humidification.

WINIX LightCel Technology

A WINIX humidifier helps you maintain humidity between 40% and 60%. Low indoor humidity can cause itchy skin and dry eyes. Wooden floors and plants also benefit from a humidifier and suitable indoor humidity, especially during winter. WINIX LightCel UV-C+ technology reduces the presence of bacteria in the water tank and supports water hygiene in the appliance. Ultrasonic humidifiers with UV treat the water with UV light and disperse cleaner water particles into the room. UV-C light helps purify the water in the tank before it is dispersed, reducing the spread of germs and bacteria.

All about WINIX humidifiers

How can you maintain comfortable humidity at home? Here we answer common questions about WINIX humidifiers, using them in different rooms and cleaning and maintaining your appliance.

Why use a humidifier?

A humidifier adds moisture to indoor air. This can be helpful when the air at home is too dry, for example during the heating season. It helps bring relative humidity to the desired level. Ideally, measure humidity with a hygrometer first to avoid unnecessary humidification.

What is the ideal humidity at home?

Relative humidity of around 40% to 60% is often considered comfortable. The appropriate level also depends on temperature, ventilation and conditions in the home. Excessive humidity can encourage condensation and mould growth. Measure humidity regularly and adjust the humidifier accordingly.

Which rooms is the WINIX L500 suitable for?

The WINIX L500 is an ultrasonic humidifier with a 7.5-litre water tank. It can be used in rooms needing extra humidity, such as a living room or bedroom. Suitability depends on factors such as room size, ventilation and existing humidity. Check the official specifications for its stated capacity and recommended floor area.

How often should I clean the humidifier?

A humidifier needs regular cleaning to prevent limescale and microbial contamination. Replace the water as instructed and clean the tank and designated parts according to your WINIX model’s manual. Heavy use or hard water may require more frequent maintenance.

What do the demineralisation capsules do?

WINIX L500 demineralisation capsules help reduce the amount of minerals in the water. This can help limit white mineral deposits around an ultrasonic humidifier. The capsules do not replace regular cleaning. Use and replace them according to the WINIX L500 instructions.

What is the difference between cool and warm mist?

A cool-mist humidifier releases moisture without first heating water into steam. A warm-mist humidifier heats water to produce moist air or steam. The WINIX L500 uses ultrasonic misting. Consult the manual for available settings and use only the functions supported by your specific version.
